I have built a Moodle site for a client that has to work on both a desktop as well as a tablet device. The client has not decided on which tablets they will be giving their students, so I need to do some generic testing.
In the past I would use the emulators available in Chrome and Firefox to do some initial testing. A friend sent me a link to Genymotion last week. In the absence of a device, this may well be the next best thing.
You have access to many different emulators that provide a pretty good representation of what you would expect on a device. Since the folks at Lifehacker have already reviewed Genymotion, I’ll just provide a link. The Genymotion site provides good instructions on how to get started, so don’t miss taking a look there as well.
Here is a link to a review on Lifehacker, as well as a link to their site.
