iMoot, the largest fully online LMS conference, has announced the theme for iMoot17; “Oh, the places you’ll go!” Yes, it’s a Dr. Seussian theme for this year’s iMoot. And the question is, where will you go with your online learning?

iMoot, the conference you can attend in your pajamas, is always a lot of fun. It’s fully online, via Big Blue Button, and it’s 24 hour ’round the clock. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow educators and Moodlers around the globe. The conference has moved beyond Moodle and now covers a wide range of LMS and eLearning topics.

I have iMoot stickers? Want some? Drop me a line and I’ll send you some.

The theme of this year’s conference speaks to this idea of moving beyond where you started. They’re looking for topics around the idea of how have your extended your LMS beyond your original plans. Do you find yourself using your LMS to do more and more? Are you interested in using Moodle, Mahara or Canvas in experimental ways? Have you been playing with IoT and iBeacons in your eLearning? Are you using something unconventional as an LMS?

The Call for Proposals has also opened, so iMoot wants to hear your story. I highly encourage you to submit a proposal to present. I have a few friends I strong armed into presenting at Mini iMoot, and they didn’t regret it. It’s fun and a great way to meet new friends in the global eLearning community. Plus presenters get in free!

iMoot usually costs US$119 to attend, but currently you can buy an Early Bird pass for US$88.

I have had the pleasure of presenting at iMoot16, and I was one of the keynote speakers for Mini iMoot16, so I have a lot of love for this online conference. I have little doubt I’ll be there in May. If you’re curious what iMoot is like, or if you want to see some of the past presentations, the 2015 presentations are available online for free.

iMoot17 will run from Thursday May 18 to Saturday May 20th.
