Yesterday a client ask me for a small change to the Moodle SCORM activity. They create their SCORM content using Storyline and load it using a popup window. Once the activity has been completed, a standard message as below is shown to the user.
This requires a user to click the X in the top right corner to close the popup window. In some instances their users are closing the browser and not just the popup window.
They asked for a Close button on the page that would only close the popup window.
The fix is pretty simple, but unfortunately does require a change to each SCORM package.
Edit the goodbye.html page in the lms directory and add in a line of html. This will add a button to the screen, and when clicked, will close the popup.
Code from goodbye.html, with the change in bold.

The content has ended. You may close this window.
<input type=”button” onclick=”parent.window.close();” value=”Close [x]” />
